Instructor Keeper – Animal Management (Maternity cover until June 2023)

York Campus

Full Time - 37 hours per week

£18,396 - £18,896 per annum

Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college with campuses across the North of England.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Instructor Keeper to join our Animal Management Department here at our York campus. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is capable of working with others and is responsible, passionate and knowledgeable about the overall animal management sector and has an enthusiastic approach to animal husbandry and welfare.

The post will require you to work with a range of species within the park and deliver practical modules to Level 2 and 3 learners including assessments. We would especially like to hear from those with experience with LVI (Reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and fish)

Reporting to the Wildlife Park Manager. Responsibilities include the day to day care and management of the animal section, general cleaning, feeding, maintenance and record keeping of the animal species.

Applicants should be educated to at least a level 3 in an animal related subject, and a degree in an animal related subject would be advantageous.
